Diversifying funding streams is becoming ever more essential.
Halo Science is a platform that hosts a free marketplace to connect university researchers with industry and private sector partners seeking academic expertise, materials, and innovative solutions. Faculty can browse and respond to industry-sponsored opportunities, engage in Q&A with sponsors, and build long-term partnerships—all in one streamlined interface.
Each month, Halo posts new partnership opportunities for university researchers. These include:
- RFPs (Requests for Proposals): Funded research to solve technical challenges.
- RFEs (Requests for Experts): Consulting or co-development roles.
- RFMs (Requests for Materials): Companies seeking specific physical materials.
- RFSs (Requests for Startups): Industry connections for spin-outs and startups.
Opportunities remain open for about two months, followed by a 2–4 months review period. All proposals are non-confidential and easy to submit.
Faculty interested in registering to use Halo Science can follow the following simple steps:
- Visit the Halo Science get started page.
- Select “Researcher at a university, lab, or institute.”
- Use your institutional email to create a profile.
- Choose your discipline and interests to receive tailored opportunity alerts
